Enamoured, while featuring a smart, sassy heroine, was forgettable at best. She's determined to find something on him so she can get rid of him once and for all. The strength was in the contemporary setting with Melanie, and with the fairy tale focus taken out, could probably have been a more enjoyable novel. A suspensefull and sensual story that will make you smile I loved it. Curtis' efforts were focused on creating a whole lot of sexual tension throughout the story, and honestly, it was time better spent. I love them, Mel and Cole. As a whole Enamoured is a faiytale in itself, just not in the classic and traditional way.
Okay this book should be a mixed story of Fairytale in Modern type of setting. I can see that you're confused, so I'll explain. Or had they knocked off early? But it's not a good fairytale retelling. But as it stands, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It was short, sweet and sexy delivered with a happily ever after. Esmerelda is a fairy godmother.
If I wanted a proper thriller, I wouldn't read a novella, but if I wanted a short, fun, sexy read, I'd read Enamoured. I'm assuming that it will be this that is the common denominator in the rest of the series. She must hide until she can testify in a shocking court case involving her former employer, but so far the witness protection program has only brought more danger. Melanie strode across the business estate gardens, her face set. Her fingers tightened on the strap that was now digging into her shoulder.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review by Harlequin Enterprises Australia via Netgalley. I mean, there are a couple of Fairy Godmother I love fairytale retellings. Interspersed with this story, is the fact that Rumpelstiltskin and Esmeralda, her 'godmothers' on this tale, are trying t Enamoured is a fairytale retelling of the Frog Prince set in the modern world. But time is running out and the veil between death and life is shifting. I'm not entirely sure she's pulled it off successfully, but definite credit for the idea and implementation. It was a year before I summoned the courage to try writing again.
But fate has saddled her with a partner, and Rumpelstiltskin — with his sexy bad boy swagger — has a hidden agenda of his own. What a great new take on an old as time story line. Melanie, what are you doing here? However, she doesn't count on being partnered up with the notoriously shady Rumpelstiltskin, or having the handsome undercover cop, Cole, take an interest in Melanie. Melanie belongs to the Frog Prince fairytale but she's too busy scavenging evidence to incriminate her evil stepfather to fall in love with her designated Prince. It was a novelty drive, and looked like a tube of lipstick. She clutched the gate with both hands and peered down.
I was born and raised dragged up by my braids in Sydney, Australia. Curtis has attempted to blend a traditional Frog Prince fairytale with a modern day detective investigation, which is an interesting combination. Cole is a fantastic hero. I received this book in exchange for an honest review by Harlequin Enterprises Australia via Netgalley. Gabriel had basically nothing to do. She was going to get the goods on Lionel Lowry.
Well, it was full of speed bumps. But it doesn't take long for romance to strike. I enjoyed Enamoured, although I found it rather short - it felt more like a novella than a novel. . I kept thinking the email must have been meant for someone else.
Like Cutris' other work, Enamoured isn't a straight fairytale retelling, rather its a cross over between the world of fairytales and real life romantic suspense. Nothing felt rushed at all, and that is fairly unusual. The hero and heroine are both likable, the villain is deliciously evil, the plot is fun, and the romance is cute. Disclaimer: Whilst I read this as a judge for the 2013 Aurealis Awards, this review is my personal opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of any judging panel, the judging co-ordinator or the Aurealis Awards management team. Esmerelda and Rumple's situation was comical. In the Fairy Isle, nothing is as it seems…. The plot is nice and simple - Melanie wants to find some evidence to force Lionel Lowry away from her and her mum, while Cole wants to find some evidence to put Lionel in jail.
