Then her diva cousin Francesca waltzed into Bobbie Faye's workplace, Ce Ce's Cajun Outfitter and Feng Shui Emporium, and everything just went to hell. And I didn't laugh out loud quite as much as the first one. The second book was really hard to get into though. When the third book was ready to be released, as the author will tell you on her website, the publisher decided new covers and titles would sell better. Nice to see in a book right? Bobbie Faye is a hurricane-force heroine who makes this novel the perfect adventure yarn. It would make a great action movie! Throw in an unlikely MacGuffin and you've got a very, very, very, very entertaining book. But I'd really miss the rivalry between Bobbie Faye's two lawmen, high school honey, Det.

Girls Just Wanna have Guns is a great addition to the series. Gird your loins, find a comfy chair and grab your favorite drink before you begin because this book will suck you in like a tornado once it gets going. Bobie Faye, Trevor, Cam, CeCe, and the rest of the gang are on a search for blood diamonds worth billions. A little too far-fetched for my taste. Cam, is on the side of the law, she look guilty, there is proof that she is. A Rather Lovely Inheritance 14. Causey's second attempt with Bobbie Faye does not disappoint.
Though I did like the first book the best out of the three. Accused of one man's murder, Bobbie Faye's on the run as an unintentional Pied Piper to a rabid band of thieves. This happens on almost every page of the book. While this book also had a good helping of Bobbie Faye getting herself into and out of ridiculously dangerous situations, more time was spent developing the romance between Bobbie and Trevor and reviving the romance between Bobbie and Cam which made for quite a few slow spots in-between the action. The second in the Bobbie Faye series doesn't let up from the first book. Before the first chapter, Bobbie Faye's been kidnapped three times by different kidnappers and driven around the block same block as they issue their ultimatums different requests.
While I love both writers, and I think the Bobbie Fae series is actually funnier than the Plumb books. I don't know that I've read a book that so successfully turns up the intensity level and heat so well plot wise. When I need a good laugh and the chance to commiserate with someone who is having a day worse than mine, Bobbie Faye is my go-to character and Toni McGee Causey is my go-to writer. Francesca's mom has disappeared with exceptionally valuable diamonds swiped from Francesca's dad difficult marriage so of course Francesca broadcast to every insane psycho that Bobbie Faye could recover the ersatz family jewels. This time Bobbie needs to find her Aunt Marie's missing diamonds which are worth millions - each. I'd say this book was ok but the only reason I'll read the third one is because I liked the way Trevor and Bobbie Faye interacted. Some of the formatting of the book drove me insane. I did want to see how it turned out, and I wasn't surprised at all about who the culprit was, I'm a big fan of the Bobby Faye books I've read. I ran out and bought the 1st in the sequel, Bobbie Faye's Very very, very, very Bad Day: A Novel, only because I like to read books in sequence.
